‘Superfood’ is Often Just a Buzzword

If you read anything on the internet these days, you’ll likely come across articles pontificating the benefits of the latest, trendy superfood that will cure all ills, help you lose 15 pounds and make you look 10 years younger.   These superfoods, while mostly healthy to include in our diets, don’t usually live up to all the hype (and by extension the pricey supplements and foods created with them).

Many of these superfoods are also super expensive.  You can find other, less expensive, easier to prepare (and locate!) foods at your local grocery store instead of the specialty aisle of an obscure health food store.

But there are a few superfoods that have scientific research behind them and they DO live up to the hype, according to Examine.com.  The best part of these superfoods is that they’re easy to find at the grocery store, farmers market or wherever else you like to shop.  They’re not expensive to buy and you can probably even find organic options for reasonable prices.  You’re probably eating them already and if you’re not you should be!
